河野典生の小説『狂熱のデュエット』をもとに、虚無感から無軌道に生きる若者たちの姿をビート・ジャズの演奏に乗せて鮮烈に描く。少年鑑別所を出た明と勝は途中でユキを拾い海へと向かった。３人は海岸で明を鑑別所に送りこんだ新聞記者の柏木と恋人の文子を襲う。
